HeFF rates this game: 4/5A game which actualy can be considered a simulator instead of game, even with the outdated graphix. This is a great racing sim if u like life-like car models and handling, and is the first best game of the series imo. U start with a predetermined amt of cash and get to choose from a variety of real car dealers an their models, from used to brand new, and from dodge to forign dealers like hyundai. The race choice is huge and goes depending on what liscence u have obtained and what model/power ratio or drivetrain your car(s) is. A perfect racing game to sit back and kill a few hours.
wildrunner1978 says:With the second installment in the series, Gran Turismo 2 expands on what cars are available, tracks that can be raced upon. Playing this game with all the different cars and tracks is an experience that I truly enjoyed. The game mechanics are basically the same as the first game in the series. The game comes in two versions, Arcade and Simulation.
In the Arcade Mode, you can drive what cars are available from the in game garage or use cars from your own garage. Your record times for each track are saved and can be seen in either mode.
With Simulation mode, things get very interesting. There are dozens of different cars available. From Japanese K series commuters to full blown racing machines, this game provides an extremely wide range of choices. Either new or used, the player can buy and modify a stock factory tuned street vehicle into a monster racing machine.
As a die hard fan of this series, I recommend at least giving this game a try!
LeftyGuitar rates this game: 3/5Gran Tursimo 2 is a racing/simulation game. You can buy vehicles from several different manufactures. These are real cars. You will race around many different locations. You can earn licenses which help you unlock more locations and vehicles. Each vehicle has their own set of stats, like speed and handling. There is no cosmetic damage here, but this is a PSX game. There are also several different game modes. If you enjoy racing games, you'll find this one up your alley.
